Just what does “with all your heart, all your soul” imply? For me, in my time, in my little world?? I suddenly realized the answer in the following line, “You are to walk in God's ways.” How grateful I am for Jesus; he instructs me so well on how to walk in the way of God, my Creator. Jesus says, “Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you," then you will be “children of your heavenly Father.” Trying to love like that does take all my heart. How much easier it is to love those who love you. “Even pagans do that.” But the vicious enemies of my person, my country – there is where heroic love is called for.
Today I will spend some time in silence in order to discover one way in which God calls me to be “particularly God's own.” I will pray for my personal enemies and the enemies of my country.
